Henry Reeves and Co in Maidstone are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic, friendly and busy team and be able to adapt to the needs of the business.

Recent, significant use of Sage Payroll is a prerequisite for this role.

The role is available for immediate start.

The role will largely be self-managing, whilst looking after the needs of our circa 140 payroll clients.  

The ideal candidate should have the following 

  • Professional, enthusiastic approach to work, striving towards and consistently achieving high standards.
  • Fully conversant with payrolllegislation.
  • Clear, practical understanding of informationtechnology.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, liaising with clients, colleagues, external agencies at alllevels.
  • High analytical ability, identifying problems, creating and implementing procedures to automate systems to enhance accuracy, cost efficiency andeffectiveness.
  • Highly flexible, accountable and committed to achieve deadlines andresults.

 

The role will include the following aspects 

  • Full payroll function including setting up and registering withHMRC.
  • Run payroll within current legislation keeping all records up todate.
  • Calculate tax, national insurance and pension manually or on a computer program.
  • Time management so payroll deadlines areachieved.
  • Calculate statuary SSP, SMP and SPP wheredue.
  • Real time submissions, final year end submission andP11d’s
  • Pension implementation for autoenrolment.
  • Calculating statuary payments and annualleave.
  • Liaise with clients, colleagues, external agencies concerningpayroll.
  • Auditing of payroll andinput.
  • Training other staff onpayroll.
  • Collating and entering payrolljournals.
  • CIS submissions and adjust for suffered payments and balance PAYE payments for client.



Our office hours of work are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm. We are willing to consider applicants who wish to work anywhere between 24 and 37.5 hours per week.
